The wedding of the yeayah...

In lieu of the hype surrounding the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, my friend Laura Jean posted a video of Grace Kelly's wedding to Prince Rainier III...
The British Man narrating the video calls it the 'Wedding of the yeayah'... and it certainly seems that it was! She was SO fabulous!

I love how this news coverage is like an old timey movie... music and all.
Here's Part II:

She was stunning!
BUT... though the royal wedding got so much attention, in my world, my own wedding will be the wedding of the yeayah!

In an effort to make the cold weather just a memory and to look forward to a new season, I was reflecting back on this past fall/winter. Here are some highlights from fall 2010.

Summer dreaming...

Woke up bright and early today for Pilates... the sun was shining in the windows and it gave me so much hope, that I ran out of the house in flip flops and a t-shirt. Nope! Still chilly and very windy. BUT, the sun has me looking forward to warm weather and warm weather clothes...
Here are a few things I'm loving right now:
LOVE the peachy lambskin on this bag. A must have.
Maxi dresses are a summer staple for me. This one is chic and interesting.
I am simply psyched about flares coming back around in a big way. They make everyone look long and lean. Grab a white t-shirt and a great pair of wedges and you're good to go.
Every summer I buy more easy breezy pants... and I never regret it.
Rises are rising again... thank god! I don't know who started the trend of low rise jeans... but no one looks good in them! I don't care how thin you are, low rise jeans make you look bigger. You think the term 'muffin top' has been around forever? No way. In the sexy days of the 70's, nobody was walking around with muffin top because girl hips were all tucked into hot, high rise jeans.
The shape of this tank is super sexy, and the print makes it playful. Loves it.
These will be adorable with a bathing suit.
Long skirts are so awesome when they're worn right. I'm getting this one.
I am a huge lover of fun, oversized, costumey jewelry. Always adding to the collection.

Thats my summer dreaming for the day.
Now enjoy this...

The Romantics...

Had another sleepless night the other night... ugh... so I rented the Romantics from on demand.
The plot is nothing to write home about... its a bunch of 20 somethings, old college friends getting together for a wedding... but there is a love triangle, secrets, unfinished business, etc...
Pretty much the kind of movie I always like... a drama/comedy about love, scandal and hot people partying... right up my alley! I was also obsessed with the setting, a dreamy seaside estate that made me very nostalgic about New England... but the real reason I'm writing about the movie at all is the kick ass soundtrack. I downloaded a bunch of the songs and there are some real gems in there. This one has been on repeat for a few days now... It was played over a really scandalous make-out scene in the movie... love it.

Found it: The ultimate break-up song.

Adele's new album came out a few weeks ago... and in my humble opinion,
her track: Take it All is the absolute ultimate break-up song.
All who know me remember my tragic breakup. Still to this day, the worst experience of my life...
Luckily, I conquered my own life after all... changed for the better...
made a career change, re-found my art, made peace with lots of things I didn't even realize were in turmoil, reconnected with people and places and things that I had dismissed... and ultimately found the man of my dreams and the love of my life (from my past)... but in the thick of it all, this song would've been on repeat for months. It speaks to me, and I'm sure so many others who went through what I did. It says how I felt for a very long time.
